A beautiful day for this year's Parker Cup, with turnouts in all bow-types for the rounds available.
In the WA 1440 round (three dozen at 90m and three dozen at 70m on a 122cm face, then three dozen at 50m and a final three dozen at 30m on a 80cm face), it was a tight fought competition in the Compound category with Wayne Evans shooting a brilliant 1346 to take the trophy, followed by Duane Davies on 1297 and William Swingler on 1267.
Recurve put Bob Bellett on 1072, with runner-up Richie Bevan on 846.
The Longbowmen had a good outing with David Murcott's 351 clinching the silverware over Frank Parker's 298.
The Short Metric 1 Recurve round was won by Alan Broadley with 607 (for the gentlemen's division) and runner-up was Vic Mortimer on 394. The Ladies competition was won by Chris Paxton on 347.
Longbows were represented by Ian Smith and Bob Allcock with scores of 83 and 82 respectively - just one point in it! What a nail-biter!
Finally, Jack Bevan's score of 432 (with 13 tens) in the Short Metric 4 was enough to give him a gold medal to take in to school and impress his friends!
Full results are now available in the "Competitions" section, along with updated club records.
Thanks to William for collating the scores, and to Alan for his able Captaining for the day!
