The sun was out for the traditional Lichfield Archers St. George's Day Shoot today! Sighters were at 11am, with a choice of three rounds for the thirteen archers who turned out. All bow types were represented.
On the St. George round, the Longbow prize was taken by David Murcott with a respectable 204 (a superb new club record), the Compound by records officer William Swingler with 878 and the Recurve by Quentin Kozma with 623.
Ian Smith was the Longbow champion for the The Albion round (a score of 89 - ANOTHER new club record), with Duane Davies scooping the Compound with a 932. Top spot in the Recurve category was Bob Allcock who scored 712.
Finally, the Windsor round had a field of three recurve archers, with Alan Broadley's score of 892 clinching him the crown.
FULL SCORES HAVE BEEN UPLOADED IN THE "COMPETITIONS" SECTION.
Frank Parker managed to put new meaning into the expression "aim high" with this cool miss at 100 yards... Still went on the scoresheet as an "M," unfortunately for him!
Winners and runners-up had a choice: take the medal or take the Easter egg! See below for some photos (and special thanks to Fiona Parker for her skills as photographer for the day... and apologies for including the photo of her refusing to have her picture taken!)
